Condolence From: Mike Crane
Condolence: Saddened to hear about Dr. Robinson's passing. He had a way of connecting with the forestry students and challenging us. I have fond memories of him. He was ahead of his time I think when it came to the use of computers in the workplace...but we never did convert to the metric system did we? :-)

Condolence From: Tom Lynch
Condolence: Myrna Joe and family

Dave was a great mentor for me as a young faculty member especially in the teaching area. And learning the ropes at OSU Forestry Summer Camp which he dearly loved as you know. There was an interesting connection between us in that Dave taught forest measurements to Harold Burkhart as a student at OSU and I learned forest measurements from Harold at Virginia Tech!

And I am so glad that Dave got to see the Cubs win it all at last! I recall his die-hard Cubs fan club membership card, I think his Dad enrolled him when he was born. And his beloved diploma from Oklahoma A&M (NOT state university).

I regret that I was not able to attend Dave's service as I was in Tennessee for my mother's 90th birthday at the time.

My prayers are with you Myrna Jo and family during this time

Tom Lynch

Condolence: Merna Jo and Family:
I was sad to hear of Dave's passing. I always enjoyed working with Dave in the Forestry Department. Not only was he concerned about student success, he was also supportive of the faculty , the department and the forestry profession. It was a pleasure knowing and working with him.

Condolence From: Jim Miller aka Dr James H. Miller
Condolence: Dear Merna Jo and Family
Dr. Dave aka Robie was one of the most profoundly unique human beings I have known and he thrived on his special gift and mission to teach the profession of forestry... to as he would say in the old days "I didn't even know how to spell forester and now I am one." He and you were always strong supports for me and Anne on us and many, many others. With his commitment to teaching Sunday School there are more lucky folks than can be imagined. For these devotions we are so exceedingly grateful. Jim and Anne

Condolence From: Roger L Davis
Condolence: I was in the 1962 Tom,OK summer camp when Dr. Dave began his teaching career. His first class was Forest Mensuration (Measurements) in that summer camp. We students got to know Dave well in that camp. He was a devoted forester, family man, teacher and OSU fan. His students will always remember him.

My sincere condolence to Merna Jo and the entire family.

Condolence: Dave was a devoted family man, an inquisitive scholar, a top-notch forester, a gentle nudger of students, an avid OSU Cowboys sports fan, a Die-Hard Cubs fan, a mentor, a friend...and a gentleman, in the truest sense of the term.

I cherish the times and experiences that we shared. He made a wonderful, positive difference in the lives of many, and he will be missed by many.

My heartfelt condolences to Merna Jo, Julie, Scott and Jay, and the whole family.

Condolence: I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Robinson. He was a professor that demanded a lot from his students but I learned so much in his classes. After you got to know Dr. Robinson you also realized he had a big heart and cared about his students. He also had a love of forestry and the environment that was contagious. When I think of OSU Forestry I usually think of Dr. Dave Robinson.

Condolence From: Larry C Kindt OSU 1970
Condolence: I remember Dave. At Forestry Summer Camp, Greer AZ, in 1968 Prof Robinson taught us the 3 R's - Robbies Round Reasoning. Although I haven't seen Dr. Robinson is more than several years, every time I am in Stillwater I think of his smile and always friendly greeting.
We have lost a great man. But his memory will always be here.
