Doris J. (Mowen) Reeder, 88 of Chambersburg, formerly of Shippensburg, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Penn Hall. She was born October 7, 1928 in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late John William Earl and Nellie (Hollinger) Mowen. She was a 1946 graduate of Greencastle H.S., a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, and was employed at the Stanley Co. for eight years. She is survived by six children: Roy G. Reeder (Joanne) Shippensburg, Donna J. Forney (Dale) Chambersburg, Doris J. Northeimer (Kenneth), Lancaster, Geneva N. Reeder Harrisburg, Elaine S. Snider (Jeffrey) Chambersburg, and Galen J. Reeder (Claire) Russiaville, Indiana; and 3 step children, Ruby Weller (Leonard) St. Thomas, Verna Fitz (Richard-deceased) Chambersburg, Ralph G. Reeder II (Betty) Shippensburg; a sister, Anna Knepper, Waynesboro, a brother, Paul (Pete) Mowen, Greencastle; nine grandchildren, six step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and several step great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Ralph G. Reeder (1992), she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Virginia Martin, a granddaughter, Danielle Forney, a great grandson, Tucker Northeimer, a half brother Harold Mowen, a half sister Evelyn Demuth, and two brothers: Robert and James Mowen. The funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at St. John's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brenda Doyle officiating. There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the William F Sellers Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
