Condolence: Heaven gained a true angel. I was so saddened to receive this news upon her passing. Just like a family member. Mrs. Minnie has blessed my family with her chocolate and coconut pies for many years. In 2005/2006 while we spent almost 6 months at Rapides Regional, she would bring pies, casseroles, love and friendship regularly to us in our time of need. We lost my dad after that battle and on again we were blessed with her pies. In April my mom entered Colfax Reunion and Mrs. Minnie's big loving heart, helped mom to adjust to her new environment with her daily friendship. We visited daily with Mrs. Minnie and always received hugs and kisses. She was always saddened over losing everything she loved, her home, independence, her brothers, and most of all her pie making. She would say, "I just wish I could make some pies". I told her my kitchen was open, any time she wanted to come use it. She did just that on my Anniversary in April. Shannon Johnson and I brought mom, Mrs. Minnie and Mrs. Sharon on a day outing to my home. We assisted her in making a smorgasbord of her pies. Had chicken and dumplings for lunch and of course PIE for dessert! This was a fun day for all of us. Mrs. Minnie I am going to miss you so much, I love you! I know you are no longer in pain and ar reunited with those you loved who went before you. One day we will meet again!

Condolence: So very sorry for your loss to a very special lady. I found out through the Grant Parish grape vine of her passing. I have enjoyed partaking of her pies as well as buying quite a few. True Ms Minnie (like myself) was not a good singer, she did enjoy trying and taking part. So was not one to be idle, but chose to pitch in and do her part. Her home is now a Mansion built by the Master. She will be greatly missed.
