Obituary for B.C. Mixon

B.C. Mixon, Jr. was 94 years old, when he went to his eternal home on
Monday morning, July 17, 2017. His services are under the direction of
Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home
B.C. was born to his parents Benjamin Clebrohn and Minnie Richardson
Mixon
B.C. graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1940. B.C. developed a talent for art and he shared his art work with his family and friends.
October 10, 1942, B.C. married Pauline Gober. Shortly after getting married, B.C. joined the Air Force where he served his country from 1942-1945.
In 1945, he enrolled in Sam Houston State University and studied art and
photography for two years.
B.C. was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene. He loved music and played the guitar and sang gospel music all of his life.
He was very active in the life of the church and loved to sing about his Lord, whom he followed.
In 1956, he got involved in the motor freight business and moved to Irving in 1960, where he went to work for Roadway Express for 25 years and retired.
Upon retiring, B.C. and Pauline built a home in Athens to enjoy their retirement away from the big city. However, Pauline passed away in
February 1992.
On March 6,1993, B.C. married Ann Worley. They enjoyed 24 years
together, until B.C. broke his hip three years ago. They moved out of their home and lived in the Lakeland Assisted Living Center for the remaining years of B.C.’s life.

B.C. was preceded in death by his parents…his wife, Pauline Mixon and his two brothers, Leonard Mixon and Clarence Mixon.

B.C. is survived by his wife Ann Mixon…his sister Shirley Crawford of Santo; two sons, Rick Mixon of Arlington; Al Mixon of Dodson; two daughters,
Sheila Bush of Arlington; Tammy Martin of Frankston, Five grandsons,
Cody, Justin, Austin, Jeremy and Devin. Six Granddaughters; Tracy,
Jennifer, Kimberly, Danyell, Lindsey, Briana; 17 great grandchildren, as well as Ann’s children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and
nephews from both families.
A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 2-3 P.M. at Autry’s
Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home. Services will start at 3:00P.M. with burial to
follow at Post Oak Cemetery. If you would like to leave a message of
