Obituary for Philip James Schneider

Philip James Schneider
Philip James Schneider went home to the Lord Jesus on July 19, 2017. Born in Everett, WA on February 26, 1944, to Raymond and Ann Schneider, he attended Marysville schools, graduating from Marysville High School in 1962. He earned a BA degree in Accounting from U of W and furthered his education with a Masters in Finance and International Business and attended the AEA-Stanford Executive Institute.
Phil served as an Army First Lieutenant and Platoon Leader with the 319th Transportation Company leading them in a tour in Vietnam. He received the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Achievement in ground operations against hostile forces.
Upon return from Vietnam, he married Roberta Chapman Lewis and they had 3 children together. He worked as a CPA before joining John Fluke Manufacturing. Taking early retirement from his management position and marrying Sharon McMurtrie Barnes in 1993, they spent the next 13 years working tirelessly on their “hobby” 240 acre cattle ranch in Twisp, WA. Hunting, fishing, horseback riding, hiking, snow skiing, snowmobiling, and hosting friends and family were a favorite pastime at the ranch. Hay season, calving season, summer fishing and swimming in the creek – there was always plenty of work and fun to be done!
Retiring from the ranch, they moved to East Wenatchee in 2005 to enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle. They were active in their church and with friends in Wenatchee while enjoying hosting family and grandchildren at their home.
Phil is survived by his wife, Sharon; his sister Rae Ann Dugger ( William “Bill”); son Lee Schneider and granddaughter Chelsea; son Brett Schneider (Kirsten) and grandchildren Audran, Stefan and Samantha; daughter Allison Spears (Craig); and mother of his children Roberta Lewis. Step-sons: Richard Barnes (Kristin), grandchildren Nicole, Joshua, Julia and Zoe; Scott Barnes (Lisa), grandchildren Perry, Chelsea, Cameron, Jessica; Jeffrey Barnes and grandchildren Brittany, Austin and Chase. He also has numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family thanks Confluence Health Hospice Care and Bonaventure of East Wenatchee for their professional and compassionate care.
Phil’s Celebration of Life Service will be held July 29, 2017 at 1pm at Wenatchee First Assembly of God, 1520 McKittrick St., Wenatchee, WA 98801 with a fellowship meal to follow at the church. All are welcome to attend and share memories of his life.
