Obituary for Mary Joyce O'Haire

Mary Joyce O'Haire
Mary Joyce O’Haire of Larchmont, and formerly of Lloyd Harbor, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2017. Mary was born to the late Bridie and Thomas Joyce in New York City. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty years, George V. O’Haire and her brother Thomas (Sonny) Joyce. Mary is survived by her four children, Brian O’Haire, Stacey O’Haire Fahey and her husband Thomas J. Fahey III, Gregory O’Haire and Karen O’Haire, and her four grandchildren, Caitlin, TJ and Erin Fahey and Olivia O’Haire.

Mary and George raised their family on Long Island and were active parishioners of St. Brigid’s in Westbury and St. Patrick’s. R. C. Church in Huntington. Together, they could often be found at events with their Parish, the Knights of Columbus, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Bar Associations, and the Marine Corp Survivors of Iwo Jima. Mary also volunteered with the Girl Scouts and The Immaculate Conception Seminary.

A loving daughter and sister, a devoted partner to George, a fabulous mother and doting grandmother, as well as a loyal friend. Mary was an avid reader and a hearty traveler. She was a New York Times crossword puzzle master (done in ink every day), an enthusiastic gardener, and wonderful hostess. Mary lived a great life and will be remembered always as an elegant and gracious lady.

Mary will be deeply missed by all. Semper Fi.
