Carolyn Lois “MiMi” (Averitt) Robbins, 72, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, July 22, 2017. Visitation will be held all day Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the funeral home with family present 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church of Bronte with interment to follow in Hayrick Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Carolyn was born on November 17, 1944 to Floyd and Lena (Collins) Averitt in San Angelo, Texas. She grew up in Fort Stockton and attended Fort Stockton High School. On July 7, 1962, she married the love of her life, Ronnie Robbins in San Angelo. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family dearly and loved to spend time with them, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for her family and for the Bronte Lion’s Club. Carolyn was an active member in the Methodist Church where in her younger years she kept the nursery, taught Sunday School and was involved with the MYF. Carolyn’s spare time was spent tending her flower garden and enjoyed taking trips to the Texas Hill Country. She also enjoyed sewing Sherry’s clothes and baby blankets and clothes for her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Terry Robbins and Steve Robbins; brothers, Jamie Averitt and Wendell Averitt; sisters, Margaret Titus and Judy Parker.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ronnie Robbins of Bronte; daughter, Sherry Jackson and husband Darryl of Christoval; daughter-in-law, Shellie Robbins of Midland; grandchildren, Kaleb Jackson and wife Alana and Cody Jackson and wife Taylor both of Colorado City, Kayce Jackson of Christoval, Brittny Robbins and fiancé Ryan Long, Addison Sandell and Colton Sandal all of Midland; along with several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Bronte, West Texas Boy’s Ranch or a charity of your choice.
