Obituary for Esther Bowman (Lamb)
Esther Bowman, age 92, of Berea, passed away, Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Berea Health Care Center.
Esther was born in Madison County to the late Miller and Cynthia Isaacs Lamb. She was a homemaker and member of Big Hill Holiness church for over 65 years.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Bowman; two sons, Jesse Bowman and Vernon Bowman; five grandchildren; and nine siblings: Willard Lamb, Vincent Lamb, Alvin Lamb, Vernon Lamb, Gracie Abrams, Etta Garrett, Lola Pennington, Martha Baker, and Mary Liza Lakes.
She is survived by her remaining seven children: Mary (Leonard) Abrams, Helen Davidson, Carolyn Clark, Arlene (Frankie) Anderkin, Virginia (Kenneth) Carroll, Ronald (Sheila) Bowman, and Michael (Wilhelmina) Bowman; one daughter-in-law, Evelyn Bowman; one brother, J.B. Lamb; 24 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M., Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Big Hill Holiness Church in Jackson County. Burial will follow in the Clark Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-9 P.M. at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Michael Carroll, Preston Bowman, Randy Anderkin, Aaron Bowman, Derick Bowman, Doug Abrams and Donnie Davis. Honorary bearers will be the remaining grandsons.
