Joe was born on January 21, 1956 in Gatesville, Texas. He grew up in Copperas Cove and later raised his family in Austin and Arlington, TX.

Glass, of Copperas Cove; son, Christopher Glass, of Arlington; son, Jeremy Glass and wife Leslie, of Arlington; son, Brandon Glass and wife Nina, of Arlington; sister, Teresa Ingram, of Copperas Cove; brother John Glass and wife Lara, of Jarrell; two grandchildren, Elliette and Jameson Glass; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
