Obituary for Jenna Benzel (Stewart)

Jenna Benzel (Stewart)
Jenna Elizabeth Stewart Benzel, 31, of Vermillion SD, was taken from us in a tragic accident on Monday, July 24th, 2017. Jenna was working as an activities coordinator at Alcester Care & Rehab Center in Alcester, SD. She was assisting patients to outdoor aerobics and was fatally struck by a vehicle.
Jenna was born on December 23rd, 1985, in Vermillion SD to Steve and Jane Stewart. She was the baby of the family, the youngest of 4 children. She attended school in Vermillion, graduating high school 2004. She loved growing up in Vermillion with her siblings, dozens of cousins, and close friends. She really enjoyed boating on the Missouri River, and hanging out at her parents pool.
After briefly attending Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls, she met and married Shane Benzel. To that union brought three children. Two sons, Bram, 11, and Beck, 8, and daughter, Baye, 3. Jenna’s entire life revolved around her children. Jenna was a dedicated stay-at-home mother and had her kids involved in just about every activity possible. Weekends were spent taking the kids to football games and wrestling matches, among various other activities. Jenna also loved taking the kids camping, hiking, bike riding, and all kinds of different adventures. There was never a dull moment for the family. Jenna knew how to enjoy life to the fullest, and could make the best out of any situation.
Recently, Jenna got back into the workforce, assisting people, which was very fulfilling to her. Jenna took great pride in helping bring joy to the patients, as well as everyone else she met.
You could easily pick Jenna out of a crowd with her platinum blonde hair and her infectious laugh. Jenna was loved by many, and will certainly be missed; she was taken from us way too soon.
Jenna is preceded in death by her father, Steve Stewart, and grandparents Don and Katie Stewart. Survivors include her husband, Shane, sons Bram and Beck, daughter Baye, mother, Jane, brothers John, & Josh (D’Lynn), sister Jill, nephew Johnny, niece Simone, grandparents Richard and Shirley Fevold, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Jenna and her father, Steve, are now reunited, and will continue to watch over her children, friends, and family.
