Obituary for James "Kevin" Blanchfield

James "Kevin" Blanchfield
James “Kevin” Blanchfield, 59, of Chelan, WA, passed unexpectedly in the early
morning hours on Sunday, July 16, 2017. He was born April, 2, 1958, in
Wenatchee, WA, to Verlin E. Blanchfield and Ruth (Seyler) Blanchfield of
Entiat, WA. Kevin was born and raised a cowboy, just like his dad, and he
remained a cowboy throughout his life.

He had many horses of which the majority were paints. Horses were his passion.
Kevin attended school in Entiat until moving to Spanaway, WA, where he worked
our dad’s ranch, Clover Creek Stables.

After a few years, they packed up and headed to Portland, OR, where they
opened the War Bonnet Riding Stables. It was during this period that he met
his life partner, Cassie Hart. After many years in the Portland area, Kevin
and Cassie moved to Chelan Falls, WA, where he worked with his sister at
Arrowhead Riding Stables. They then moved to the Quiet Valley Ranch located
off Antoine Creek Rd. This is where he remained for his last 20 years while
raising horses. In 2015, a massive fire in the Antoine Creek area burned his
home and he lost everything. Life wasn’t easy, but Kevin always had a smile to
share and maintained a positive attitude.

A Funeral Service for Kevin will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 29,
2017, at the Lake Chelan United Methodist Church, 206 N. Emerson St., in
Chelan, WA. Arrangements are by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley, East
Wenatchee, WA.
