James Allen “Bubba” Buchanan passed away peacefully in Tyler, Texas on August 2nd, 2017 at the age of 60.
Bubba is survived by his son, Gideon Cord Buchanan and wife Hannah of College Station, Texas; sisters Ann Hitt of Tyler, Texas, Dian and husband Dennis Mayfield of Tyler, Texas, Cheryl and husband David Hicks of Longview, Washington, and Kay Hammans of Tyler, Texas; aunt and uncle Nelda and Alton Cade of Tyler, Texas; cousins Deborah Cade Nail and Jeff Cade; nieces Crystal Hicks, Candace Hicks; nephew Clifford Hicks. He is preceded in death by his parents, John A. Buchanan and Mary Glenda Ellis and brother Joey Buchanan.
Bubba was born on November 12th, 1956 in Tyler, Texas. He graduated from Athens High School in 1975. Bubba held many positions in various law enforcement agencies in Henderson County. Bubba was a member of the Masonic Lodge as well as the National Rifle Association.
