Obituary for James Allen Wiser

James Allen  Wiser
James Allen Wiser, 68, of Ashland, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, August 2, 2017 in Galion, Ohio at the home of his fiance’.

Jim was born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 8, 1948 the oldest of five children born o Merald Sherman and Marie Winifred (Allen) Wiser. The family moved to the Ashland area in August of 1961.

Jim was a graduate of Mapleton High School class of 1967. He attended Wooster College where he earned an associate degree in business. He worked as an insurance adjustor for Lightening Rod Mutual Insurance Company until his retirement in 1993.

He attended the Trinity Gospel Tabernacle in Galion, Ohio. He was an Eagle Scout and was a former Scout Master. He enjoyed doing genealogy research on his family and loved to tinker with anything that had an engine.
He is survived by his children, Tricia (Michael) Holtkamp and their children, Alyssa, Madison & Justin of Dublin, Ohio; Heather (Mark) Vaught and their children, Ava, Nolan and Davis of Delaware, OH; and Brandon (Julie) Wiser of Cleveland, OH; his fiance’, Evelyn Cook of Galion, OH; one sister. Kathleen R. Shull of Ashland, and two brothers, Bruce (Carrie) Wiser of Ashland and John Davis Wiser of Winter Park, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dale Wiser.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Imhoff officiating. Burial will be in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home.
