Obituary for Sammy H. Hugh Ivy, Sr.
Mr. Sammy H. Ivy, Sr., 75, of Corsicana passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Navarro regional Hospital in Corsicana. He was born on August 13, 1941 in Eden, Texas to Bill Ivy and Willie B. Gentry.
He was an antique dealer for many years, and had several other hobbies which included making jewelry and leaded glass shades. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice E. Ivy; his parents, Bill and Willie Ivy; sister, Velma Williams; and brothers, Jack and Joe Ivy.
He is survived by his son, Sammy H. Ivy, Jr. and wife Cynthia of Corsicana; daughters, Elizabeth Duckworth of Ennis and Paula Watson and husband Wayne of Corsicana; granddaughters, Ashley Johnston and husband Travis of Garland and Rebecca Ivy of New York; grandsons, Jason Lee Watson, Dalton Watson, and Benjamin Ivy of Corsicana; and four great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Corley Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Lain Teel officiating.
