Obituary for Paul Andrew Monohon

Paul Andrew  Monohon
Paul Andrew Monohon, 79, of Canon City, entered into rest August 4, 2017 in the comfort of his home.
He was born on May 16, 1938 to Floyd and Lavina (Roe) Monohon, in Ottumwa, Iowa. Both preceded him in death.
Paul married Elizabeth Jane (Harrell) on February 21, 1959. Elizabeth preceded him in death, leaving two daughters, Tammy (Orval) Horn and Lisa Monohon. He served in the United States Navy from January 1956 to May 1959. While in the Navy, he was assigned to the National Navy Hospital at Bethesda, Maryland as a corpsman.
After the Navy, Paul went to Seminary School at Pineville, Kentucky. While in Seminary School, he preached at Monticella, Kentucky. After finishing Seminary School, he preached at several churches in Illinois. Paul then moved to Colorado, where he was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Canon City. Pastor John K. McDonald was a very loving and caring friend to Paul. Over the years, the church members and Pastor McDonald have been very caring to Paul and his family.
In addition to his daughters, Paul is survived by eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous friends and extended family.
Visitation, 1:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017, Calvary Baptist Church, 1415 Elm Ave., in Canon City. Interment to follow at Mountain Vale Memorial Park, 1700 Chestnut St., in Canon City.
