Edna N.  West (Gordon)
Edna Gordon West, 92, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at her home in Troy, WV. She was born in Newberne on May 22, 1925: daughter of the late Rossa Gordon and Macel Queen Gordon. On March 31, 1945, she married Damon West and they celebrated sixty-six years of marriage before his death on July 8, 2011.
She is survived by her son Larry West and his wife Debbie of New Matinsville; daughter Lucy Ann West of Glenville; grandchildren Chad West (Rebekah) of New Martinsville, Adam (Erika) West of Mount Clare, Nicole (A.J.) Nastasi of Morgantown and Nathan (Bridgett) West of Weston. Edna is also survived by ten great grandchildren Ashley, Tommy, Kale Damon, Kai, Korinne, Keaton, Zayn Ryan, Kendra, Kaiden, and Kolton; a brother Wayne (Elvira) Gordon of San Diego; a neighbor and friend Elma Jean Woofter. In addition to her parents and husband Damon, she was preceded in death by an infant grandson Ryan Shane West and a brother Keith Gordon.
Mrs. West was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1944, a member of the Newberne United Methodist Church, a life member of the General Lightburn VFW Aux Post 166, and worked in a defense plant during World War II in Baltimore.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 1p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Andrew Boley officiating.
