Helen Louise Burns, 87, of Marietta, Ohio, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Heartland of Marietta. She was born on August 18, 1929, in Marietta, to Charles and Verneda Sprague Boyce.
Helen was a 1947 graduate of Marietta High School. She worked for the American Legion, Post #64 for many years, as a bartender and office assistant. She was a member of the legion auxiliary there as well. Whenever she was needed, no matter what, she was there. She'll be greatly missed by all.
Helen was a beloved mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Gregory (Lois) Budgett, Rick (Debbie) Budgett and William (Brad) Budgett; daughter, Linette Burns Taylor; 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many great great grandchildren; niece, Karin Reed; and nephew, Ky Lynch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Vicki Budgett Gray; brother, Robert Boyce; sister, Marlene Boyce Lynch; granddaughter, Latasha Gray; and nephew, Kevin Lynch.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Family will greet friends for two hours prior to the services. Burial of her ashes will follow in Salem Township cemetery.
