Obituary for Caroline Emily Lundgren
Caroline Emily Lundgren, age 94, passed away peacefully on August 6th 2017 surrounded by her family's love.
She was predeceased by her husband Arnold (Al), parents Gudrun and Sigurgeir, sisters Sigga and Donna, and nephew Derrik. Caroline is survived by daughters Bev (Dave), Sharon, Jacquie and Kim (Bob); and grandchildren Meaghan, Joshua, Janice (Cory), Owen, Emmalie and Jacob, and son-in-law Garry.
Caroline was tender-hearted, quick-witted and strong no doubt due, at least in part, to her prairie upbringing in challenging times. This instilled in her a strong social conscience, and a compassion for those less fortunate.
Her life was enriched by her love of animals, nature, reading, and family. Even in her last weeks Caroline took pleasure in quietly sitting with family at the park, feeding the geese and ducks.
We are so grateful for her unconditional love and support throughout our lives. Mom also treasured her connection to nephew Derrik, his wife June, their children Doug and Kerri, cousin Donald, and many longstanding friendships with neighbours.
She made many heartfelt and caring connections with caregivers at River East Personal Care Home who also honoured her passing. We are so grateful for the dignity, humour, care and warmth that they brought to her daily life.
