Obituary for Robert E. Hamilton

Robert E.  Hamilton
TROY Robert E. Hamilton, 87, of Tampa Ave. died Thursday August 10, 2017 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy he was the son of the late Harry and Mary Scriven Hamilton. He was a 1948 graduate of Lansingburgh High School.

Bob had been employed for 42 years as a baker at the Freihofer Baking Co. in Troy and retired in 1992 as Supervisor of Baking. He was a member of the Bakery and Confectionary Union Local 50. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Lansingburgh and a former member of the Pleasantdale Fire Department.

Bob was the devoted husband of the late Helen Searle Hamilton who died in 2011. He is the loving father of Robert F. Hamilton (LeeAnn) of Waterford, David W. Hamilton (Diane) of Greensboro, GA and Lynn K. Hamilton (Michael) of Troy. He is the brother of Wayne G. Hamilton of Chittenango, and the late Marlene Kewley. Ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rte.32), Waterford and at 10:30 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on SATURDAY from 4-7 p.m. and on Monday from 9- 10 a.m., prior to the funeral.
