Obituary for Carol Jean Huffman (Jones)
Carol Jean (Jones) Huffman, 60 of Oakley, KS died Thursday, August 10, 2017 in her home.
Carol was born in Oakley on January 29, 1957 to Joyce and Bill Jones. She was a stepdaughter to Charlie Hoeb and Betty Jones. A sister to Kenny Jones and Darrin Hoeb.
Carol attended the Oakley High School; Class of 1975. She was a member of Theta Rho, KAYS, and Pep Club; while in school.
Carol married her soul mate Bill Huffman on January 30, 1982 in Oakley. They have four daughters Candi, Heather, Joy and Leesa. Carol and Bill celebrated 35 years of marriage this past January; they shared the kind of love that few words can express.
Carol enjoyed being able to be a Stay-at-home Mom. Relocating several times while Bill was in the Army before returning home to Oakley in 1992. One of the biggest joys in Carol's life was being "Nana" to Stephanie, Kelly, Ashley, McKenna, Alyssa, Miranda, and Charlie. Carol loved her family unconditionally and to the depths of her soul.
In 2004 Carol along with her family took on a new venture of buying and running the Dairy King. Working alongside her daughters, husband and several of the grandkids was an adventure she loved. Carol retired from working daily because of health issues, but still enjoyed sitting at Dairy King having "Coffee" with family and friends when her health permitted it. Carol knew no stranger and was full of life and love.
Proceeded in death by her mother and stepfather, Joyce (Bemiss) and Charlie Hoeb; stepmother, Betty (Nickelson) Jones; in law's, Virgil Huffman Sr. and Ermalina (Rudell) Vernon; grandparents, Marvin and Clara (McCombs) Bemiss, Tom and Cora Jones; many aunts and uncles.
Survived by her husband Bill Huffman of the home; daughters, Candi (Todd) Anderson, Heather Huffman, Joy Huffman, and Leesa Huffman, all of Oakley; father, Bill Jones, of Oakley; brothers, Kenny (Lila) Jones, Darrin (Diane) Hoeb, both of Oakley; grandchildren, Stephanie Benefield (fiancée Steven), Ashley Benefield of Revanna, NE, Kelly Benefield, Alyssa Huffman and Charlie Magley, McKenna and Miranda Anderson all of Oakley; aunts, uncles, many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
