Obituary for Howard LeRoy Howe

Howard LeRoy  Howe
Howard LeRoy Howe, 84, of Green Valley Road, Lebanon, Va., passed away at the Commonwealth Assisted Living in Cedar Bluff, Va., on Saturday, August 12, 2017. Born on April 30, 1933, he was the son of the late Ershel LeRoy and Goldie Oliver Howe of Moundsville, W.Va. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise (Maw) Howe, two granddaughters, Dee Anna and Trudy Dawn Fields, and one sister, Ruth Perdue.

He is survived by one son and six daughters, Luetta and Bill Miner of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Dolores and Billy Fields of Lebanon, John (Jerry) and Donna Howe of Lebanon, Kelli and Allan Rouse of Glade Spring, Va., Rose (Fuzz) and Walter (Buck) Conklin of Mouth of Wilson, Va., Gayle and Barry (Pedro) Thompson, and Melissa and Greg Coe, all of Lebanon; 12 grandchildren, all of which he was very proud of, four step-grandchildren, several great grandchildren; one brother, Ray Howe and wife Tina of Ohio; one sister, Violet Matthews, of Tenn., and one great aunt, Fredia Howe of W.Va.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Commonwealth Assisted Living in Cedar Bluff.

Pallbearers will be Matt Miner, Robbie Miner, Lelan Conklin, Ethan Cline, Isaac Thompson, Tyler Howe, Kenny Rouse, and Josh Rouse.

Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Sheets, Chris Hagar, Jon Clifton, Dave Bush, and Justin Rutherford.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. James Nunley officiating. Interment will follow at Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, with military graveside rites conducted by the Lebanon VFW Post #9864.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday after 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
