Obituary for Frances Joan "Jo" Choplin
Frances Joan Choplin, passed away on August 12, 2017, at age 86, in her home surrounded by family and close loved ones. She was known by many as Jo or Chop.
Jo was born on July 17, 1931 in Philo, Ohio to Freda Lone and Joseph William Ward. She graduated from White Cross Hospital, School of Nursing, in Columbus, Ohio in 1952. She went on to become a Registered Nurse for 60 years. Nursing was Jo’s greatest passion and talent in life only second to her family. Most will remember her for her service of 30 plus years at Rideout Hospital and by the care and compassion, matched by none, she provided to countless people in need throughout her career and beyond.
She will be remembered by all who knew her as a caring, giving and selfless nurse. A mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and valued friend. Our words cannot express how much we loved her, our hearts cannot tell us what to say, only God knows how much we will miss her. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands put to rest, and God broke our hearts to prove he only takes the best.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest William Choplin Jr. and two sons, Jack and Ernie Choplin. She continues to live through her two daughters, Cindy Connolly of Spoke Valley, WA and Michele Choplin of Marysville, Ca. She has 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Also countless friends who loved and adored her for all of her hard work and dedication to the community and to all those in need.
There will be no funeral services per Jo’s request.
