Nate Canon James was lovingly welcomed into the world on August 7th, 2017. He was 7lbs 10oz of beautiful baby boy with the softest blonde hair. The moment he took his first breath, the fight for his life began. At twenty weeks in utero, it was discovered that he had a significant heart defect; hypoplastic right heart syndrome. Without a series of surgeries, it would be fatal. Faced with this, we knew we would do anything possible to save his life. This led us to Boston Children’s Hospital, where we felt Nate had the best chance. After he was born, however, we were faced with multiple unexpected challenges that derailed the hope that he would be coming home. For eleven days, we loved on him and told him all about his family at home. We held him and cried. We prayed and pleaded. But on August 17th, his fight was over. Nate passed from this world, enveloped in his Mommy’s arms with his Daddy by his side, and was welcomed into Heaven where his big brother Canon was waiting.
The loss of Nate will forever be felt, but most especially by his parents, Jeff and Lynsey, his brother Tyler and his sisters, Ellie and Micah. Nate will also be missed by his Grandparents, Ron and Janis Newton, Rusty and Caprice James and Jan James, his Aunts and Uncles, Michael and Shauna Newton, Morgan Brownlee and Chris and Kelly James, as well as his cousins, Charlie, Allie, Addeigh, Sebastian, Gemma and Liam. In addition to his family, Nate is heavy in the hearts of so many friends, family, neighbors and kind strangers that prayed desperately for his life. Your support will never be forgotten.
Nate, you will be forever loved. Your absence in our family leaves another wound in our fragile hearts. Please know how important you are to us and how very much your beautiful life means to so many. We love you dearly, little one. Always.
