LANE, Stuart - It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Stuart Markwell Lane, 56, who we know was welcomed with open arms to the great beyond on August 26, 2017 by his father Don Lane, his sister Jennifer Robinson, who were also taken too soon last fall, and two of his favourite pooches Buddy and Skye. Sadly missed by his mother Jill Lane, his brother James Lane, and brother in-law Gary Robinson. Father to Amanda (William) Smits, Stuart (Natalie) Lane Jr., Nathan Lane, and doggy son, Bear. Grandfather to Grayson and Emmett Smits, who loved getting their hands dirty with him at the shop. Survived by the mother of his children Suzanne (Demers) Yule and Mandy Reid, who both stood by him until the very end.

A special thanks to the Lane and Collings clans, who have rallied beside Stuart and family over the past few years. His life was his work and work he did at Hardrock Paving for over 25 years before starting his own business, LaneCo Equipment, which he was very proud of. He taught us what determination and work ethic are all about and he did not stop until his final days. Stuart was a courageous fighter who battled against his health without ever announcing its impact on his life.

The family will receive friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Wednesday, August 30th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A service to celebrate Stuart’s life will be held in the Cudney Chapel on Thursday, August 31st at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
