It's been many years since Nicole and I attended Martin High School together, but I can remember vividly what a sweet friend she was. She was always sweet, kind, and a great listener. As the "new kid" at our high school, she was someone to count on, and just brightened a class or a lunch in her own quiet way. Now that we are adults with our own families, I appreciate what a gift that is and try to teach my own children to be there for others like Nicole was.
