Obituary for Clifford L. Ellis

Clifford L. Ellis, age 94, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born January 21, 1923, in Spickard, MO, he was the son of the late Clifford and Cepha Fitzpatrick Ellis.
Mr. Ellis was a U.S. Army veteran serving honorably during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, retiring in 1983, as a Master Sergeant. He also worked for the federal government as a quality control specialist at Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring in 1979. Mr. Ellis was a member of King Street Church, L.R. Rife/Burton’s Men Bible Class, and a life member of both the American Legion, Post 46, and the VFW post 1599 all in Chambersburg. Mr. Ellis had attended Mt. St. Mary’s College and Penn State Mont Alto for two years.
Surviving are two children, Ronald Ellis (wife Terri) of Waynesboro, PA and Lonna Ellis of Valley Forge, PA; two grandsons, Justin Ellis (wife Ashton) of San Diego, CA and Jason Ellis of Phoenix, AZ; two great-grandsons; two siblings, Paul W. Ellis of Kansas City, MO and Lucille Boone of Troy, MO; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ellis on March 30, 2005 and a sister, Helen Kover.
Funeral services will be held to honor his life on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Paul B. Baker and Rev. Ron Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Alzheimer’s Association of Greater PA, Atten: Research, 2595 Interstate Dr., suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
