The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Kenneth Smith can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Robert John Simpson
Condolence: To Ken's family.

I am an old work friend of your father. When he ran Waterford DOT he took care of our Stockpile of Emergency Equipment. This task was unfunded and your dad took care of the equipment "under the table". DOT Main Office did not want anything to do with it but your dad took care of it because it was important and the right thing to do. That was the kind of guy he was. On behalf of all the people who got emergency water and power due to the efforts of Ken Smith..

Thank you Ken for your efforts.

Condolence: To Deb and your family,

The loss of a father is something I know too well. 22 months ago my father left this world. The pain is one that never truly heals. I know this is even more hard because he was your last parent and that brings a special type of pain. I can picture him in your downstairs eat in kitchen, in Lawrence Street. I can see him with your mother sitting at a brown dining chair. I can hear his voice echoing on the extension when we would talk on the phone too long. I can hear his sharp "Deborah!" when he would let us know it was time to hang up. :) Such a terrible loss, our hearts are just broken for you and your family. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers and we are sending nothing but love and hope to all of you at this terribly difficult time.
