The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Lou Moore can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Connie Smith Monat
Condolence: My sympathies to the family and friends of Miss Moore. I was fortunate to be a pupil in her second grade in the sixties and have nothing but fond memories of this special teacher. She was adored by many little ones. On the sidewalk at recess Miss Moore graciously accepted bouquets of dandelions from the girls (and boys). Occasionally she would take one and tickle us under the chin and tell us if we smiled it meant we liked butter, enticing many giggles. On St. Patrick's Day we followed Miss Moore through the halls until she found an empty classroom with a piano where she played and sang, "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" so we could experience some Irish charm. She graciously opened her home to the whole class on the last day of school to get a peek inside and meet her mother and pets before picnicking in the front yard. One of my most treasured possessions is a picture and story I wrote in class about our first dog that had passed away. What made it special was the note at the bottom. Miss Moore had written, "I'm so very sorry." In the days of endless papers with inked stars at the top, those little words of of kindness filled my heart. Miss Moore, ever kind and professional, was one of many who inspired me to become a teacher and enjoy more than 30 years of teaching second grade. To her family and friends...I am so very sorry.

Condolence From: Robert Kelly
Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ms. Moore. I fondly remember her as my grade school teacher at Washington Elementary School. She was the nicest teacher I had and warmly greeted us every day. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed for sure here on earth, but has been graciously accepted in the arms of our Lord and Savior. God Bless her and all of her family.
