The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Byron Hoffee can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Both myself and my husband Gale would like to express our condolences to the family of Byron... We knew him through Sharon, his wife who was our real estate agent for over a year. Hugs and prayers for all of you.. He was such a sweetheart, and I know how much he loved his family.

Condolence: I worked with Byron for several years at Washington State Community College, and I can truly say that my life was enriched by getting to know him and seeing the pride that he took in his work and in making the college a beautiful and functional place to work and learn. I enjoyed talking with him and hearing stories about his family and hobbies. He will be missed by many at the college, and I extend my sincere condolences to the family.

Condolence: I hadn't seen Byron for many years, but am saddened in his passing. Byron made quite a favorable impression on me when he helped me on my Eagle Boy Scout project at Marietta High School. That's a lasting impression of about 30 years! My thoughts are with the family.

Condolence From: Don Madison
Condolence: I wanted to say to all of you that I am saddened by Byron’s passing. I know it must be tough on all of you. Having worked with Byron during his years here at WSCC I could not ask for a better boss, he was more a mentor to me. He taught me so many things that helped me in my career. I can honestly say I am where I am now because of him and I am truly thankful to him for that. He was very proud of his family and all their accomplishments. Knowing Carissa from her time at WSCC and coaching Alesha and Tasha in softball I could see how proud he was of his kids and how well they were brought up. I am sorry that I will be unable to attend the memorial service as I have to attend to my wife’s post-surgery care.
Just know that my prayers are with you all in this time of mourning. Wednesday night at 6:00 I will open a beer and drink a toast to a great boss and friend.
God Bless you all, Don Madison
