Nora Ardeci Weaver, of Mexia, passed away September 3, 2017 in Groesbeck, Texas at the age of 88. Graveside services will be 11 AM, Thursday, September 7, 2017 in the Faulkenberry Cemetery with Ms. Heidi Crosby officiating.

Visitation with the family will be 6-8 PM, Wednesday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.

Nora was born January 1, 1929 in Corsicana, Texas to Lee and Nellie Flowers Fitzgerald. She was a well-known cosmetologist and businesswoman in Mexia for 20 years; she owned and operated Nora’s Beauty Salon and Tri-County Beauty Supply.

Nora married her loving and devoted husband, Dale G. Weaver, on February 22, 1974. She was a loving mother of five children and blessed with nine grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She always looked forward to having her family together, especially, during the holidays.

Nora was caring and generous, not only to her family but to many others as well. She was also very strong willed and described, by her family, as having been a “matter of fact” person. Nora enjoyed painting, card games and working as a volunteer, “Pink Lady”, at the Mexia Hospital. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and six brothers.

Nora is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dale Weaver of Mexia; children, Beverly Armstrong and wife, Sue Warren of Lewisville, Paul Armstrong and wife, Debbie of Kemp, Rodney Armstrong and wife, Connie of Mexia and Beth Weaver of Mexia; five granddaughters; four grandsons; many great-grandchildren; brother, Leslie Fitzgerald; and numerous nieces and nephews.
