I'm very saddened to hear of Hal's passing. What a great man. My heart is with all of you, Lillian, Sue, Paul. Hal was the first person to hire me straight out of college, and I learned so much from him. He was an inspiration to me and made me believe I could do anything I put my mind to. I worked for him mid-eighties when he was first starting the Quality Inn. I have often thought of him over the years and wondered what other many projects he came up with.
