Obituary for Sergeant Major Daryl H. Fowler

Sergeant Major Daryl H. Fowler, retired Pennsylvania Army National Guard, 78 of Newport, passed away at 7:27 P.M. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his wife and children.
Born August 15, 1939 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Fern P. Fowler and Jennie M. (Lilley)Fowler.
Daryl is survived by his wife, Kathleen J. (Collis) Fowler whom he married on November 8, 1958; his children, Christine Grabau and husband Robert of Camp Hill; Denise Fowler of Newport; D. Thomas Fowler of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren: Nathanael Murray, Amanda Yohn, Lindsay Murray, Brandon Fowler; and 4 great- grand children.
He was preceded in death by siblings Fern M., Warren C. and Marjorie J. Fowler.
Daryl enjoyed woodworking and was extremely proud of the home that he and his loving wife worked on and built together. He especially loved gatherings with family and friends.
There will be a time of visitation with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
His funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Barr Funeral Home and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown with Pastor Maureen Roth officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Maitland Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
