The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Lornie Jenkins can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: My thoughts and prayers are with Lornie's family at this difficult time.

Joined up with Lornie and Floyd one day at the golf course in Wellington about 10 years ago. Their back and forth banter and humour was infectious.

Over the next couple years, I managed the get out on the links with both Lornie and Floyd on a number of occasions. Being called the greatest golf cheater of all time by Lornie meant acceptance in my mind. Perhaps I was naive!

Will now be missing both gentlemen.

Condolence: We wish to express our heartfelt condolences to Nini and family.

Lorne was a dear friend who will be greatly missed and whose memories we will cherish. We have known Lorne as our friend and neighbour at Sharbot Lake for only a short time. We will miss his visits for tea, good conversation, his wonderful sense of humour, walks on the property of his old cabin and of course fishing, his teaching skills helped me to land my first trout.

Lorne, you have definitely left a void in our lives here on the lake but we will embrace those wonderful memories we had with you.

Condolence: To Nina and family,

We will miss our neighbour and friend greatly. We were in the habit of seeing Lorne several times a week at the lake and in the village and exchanging words/jokes and jibes about the weather/fishing/boating and life in general. He always kept “an eye” on our place. He even taught our youngest son how to fish, particularly lake trout. The world is definitely a sadder place without Lorne.

Condolence: I was truly saddened to hear of Lorne's death, too soon my friend.

I first met Lorne when he came to Sharbot Lake High School and he taught Grade 13 Biology. He was a great teacher and encouraged me to enter science in University. He made earth sciences interesting and created a life long passion for science within me.

I always felt we became friends in those early days and that friendship remained to today.

My deepest condolences to Nina and family. May his love for nature things carry on in us all.

Condolence: Lorne was one of the first people I met when I moved here in the fall of 2008. I volunteered for the Provincial Liberal campaign. If you can imagine, Lorne told me to start walking south on 38 and stop at every house and ask for a donation! I did - and while I raised a bit of cash, I got to know a tough campaigner - for which I am most grateful. Here's to you Lorne!
