Ratliff City- Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy Lue (Vansill) Priest-Christian, 90, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 at the Living Word Tabernacle of Ratliff City with Rev. Eugene Christian officiating. Interment will follow at Graham Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Dorothy was born March 1, 1927 at Graham to the late Mr. William Albert Vansill and Mrs. Sarah Stella (Watkins) Vansill. She departed this life on Monday evening on Sept. 4, 2017 at her home in Ratliff City.

Dorothy was raised at Wheeler attending school there. She married Mr. James Thomas Priest on Dec. 5, 1945 and to this union they were blessed with 9 children. During these years, Dorothy was a devoted mother and homemaker residing mostly within the Milo area.
Later in life she married George Alexander Christian on Sept. 20, 1985. This union united 6 more children. Dorothy work outside the home as a waitress and nurses aid. She was employed at the Healdton Nursing Home and as a private caregiver. She also babysit-ted every child of this area at some time. Dorothy enjoyed to fishing, sewing, reading, sight seeing and loved playing Wahoo and drinking Big Red soda pops. She was baptized in 1955 at Flint, TX and has been a baptist since.

Preceding her in death were her Parents; husband , George Christian, Jan. 28, 1999; infant daughter, Cordlia - Sept. 12, 1949; son, Jerry Thomas Priest July 19, 2008; daughter, Twila Jordan Dec. 2, 2013; brothers, William Edward Vansill and Loyd Dwight Vansill; grandson, Joshua Hensley- 2009, granddaughter, Nickie Watkins, 2010; grandson, William Edward "Chuck" O'Daniel - 2013 and a stepdaughter, Nancy Christian.

Survivors include children, Dianna Tivis and husband Jerry of Loco, Dorothy Kolea O'Daniel of the home, Rebecca Sue Pruitt and husband Jacky of Panama City, FL, Mary Jo Priest of Ardmore, Peggy Lee Peterson of Duncan and Patrica Ann Turpin of Ada; stepchildren, Mary Kathryn King, Shirley Lamb, George Christian, Jr., Henry Lee Christian and Sammy Christian; brother, Jesse Albert Vansill and wife Betty of Madill; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family.

Casket bearers are Mickey Watkins, Johnny Smith, Jamie Christian, Jaimi Welch, Thomas Wilson and Rick Willis.
Honorary bearers are grandchildren, Patrick, Jimmy, Dustin, Devon, Andrew, James, Heather and Katelyn O'Daniel.
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home in Ratliff City.
