NEVEU, Joan Elizabeth (nee McRae) – Passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital on Monday, September 4th, 2017 in her 85th year, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Joan was the beloved wife of Joseph Neveu. Loving sister of the late Mary Lou Noonan (Hank), John McRae (Susan), and Michael McRae (Tricia). Also sadly missed by nieces, nephews: Shawn Noonan (Michaela), Ginny Truyens (Frank), John McRae (Janette), Joseph McRae (Susan) Peter McRae (Amy), Matthew McRae (Natalie), Mark McRae (Kristen), Margaret Anne Perotta (Joseph), Michael McRae (Heather), Christopher McRae (Barbara), Mary Lynn Futers (Larry), and Sheryl McRae Buckley (Craig) as well as great nieces and great nephews and many friends. Education was very important to Joan, she was educated at St. Joseph’s College School, St. Michael’s Hospital School of Nursing, University of Toronto, McGill University, York University, Ryerson University, and Canador College (Palliative Care). Her legacy lives on in the hearts of many as she touched so many lives both as an educator and nurse caregiver. Friends may join the family on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 11am – 1pm at REYNOLDS FUNERAL HOME with mass to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 2:00pm. Interment in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery with reception to follow in the church hall.
