Obituary for Weldon John Rusher

Benjamin Lee Rusher, 28 years old, of Westcliffe, Colorado was born March 14, 1989 in Canon City, Colorado and graduated from Custer County High School in 2007. He then attended college at WyoTech in Laramie, Wyoming where he attained his degree in diesel mechanics. After he graduated, Ben returned home, where he helped his dad on the family ranch and started his own cattle operation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and growing and improving his cattle operation. He worked for numerous businesses doing mechanic work, welding and operating machinery. Ben loved life, his cows, and all of his people.
Weldon John Rusher, 20 years old, of Westcliffe, Colorado was born April 23, 1997 in Canon City, Colorado and received his diploma from Custer County High School in 2015. He then continued to help his dad on the family ranch and began to grow his own cattle herd. Weldon enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowboarding, riding broncs and spending time with his friends and family.
Ben and Weldon are the sons of John Rusher and Elin Parker Ganschow. They were preceded in death by their four grandparents. They are survived by their parents; two sisters, Autumn Rusher Kneupper, 26, Katlyn Rusher, 23, and nephew, Owen Kneupper. Ben and Weldon passed away September 3, 2017 in a tragic swimming accident at Music Meadows Ranch. They were laid to rest together at Ula cemetery in Westcliffe, Colorado. Ben and Weldon both had an outstanding work ethic and took pride in everything they did. These two extraordinary young men were taken far too soon. Their memory and their presence will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who had the honor of knowing them.
