Welcome to Heritage Funeral Centre

Heritage Funeral Centre has been in operation since 1997. Our newly renovated facility is the largest single level funeral home in central Toronto, and boasts spacious visitation rooms and coffee lounges, as well as parking for over 200 cars.

We are privately owned and operated by Mr. Glen Day and his family, carrying on his family’s legacy of excellence in funeral services for the fourth generation.

Although a death in the family is one of the most difficult times one will ever have to face, we are confident our staff will offer you professional guidance, and support with all the necessary decisions and arrangements. We take great pride in the many tributes we receive from families, earning us their trust and making our firm the funeral home of choice for our community, whenever the need arises.

Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Engelo Stoikos can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Life Story for Engelo Stoikos

Born in the village of Armensko, on August 17th, 1917
Married the Beautiful Aphrodite Papaeliou in 1935
Father to Chris, Jimmy and Frances.
Came to Canada 1952 with his son Chris to pursue a new life for his family.
1953, sent for his wife and other children.
Worked hard for many years, along side and supporting his family as they pursued their dreams.
Brought the same family work ethic from the village farm to the restaurant business.
Took great pride in his annual vegetable garden.
Cherished too few memories with his loving wife in their Hollywood Beach Florida condo, followed by many more years on his own, but joined on many occasions by his loved ones.
Grandfather to 7 grandchildren, and Great Grandfather to 19 beautiful great grandchildren.
Lost his loving wife to cancer in 1980, and his beloved son Chris to ALS in 1989.
Persevered for many years thereafter, providing never-ending and unconditional love and support to his family.
He cherished every moment that he spent with his loved ones in his later years.
Died peacefully 2 weeks after celebrating his 100th birthday surrounded by loving family.

You will be greatly missed Dedo Vangel. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the life you provided us and the Legacy you left behind.
