Obituary for William L. Oakley

William L. Oakley, of Springville, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Hospice Buffalo at the age of 74.

He was born January 22, 1943 in Blasdell, NY- a son to the late Edgar and Christine (nee Mitchell) Oakley.

He worked as a Union carpenter out of Buffalo. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1962-1965. He was also a lifetime member of the Springville VFW and a member of the American Legion.

William married his wife, Rebecca (nee Marroquin) Oakley, in 1966.

He is survived by his wife: Rebecca Oakley of Springville; his children: William R. (Jessica) Oakley of Springville; Thomas D. Oakley of Springville; Kimberly E. (Shannon Marroquin) Kowalski of Springville; Timothy J. (Ashlee) Oakley of Springville; two brothers: John (Cheryl) Oakley of Florida and Dana (Maggie) Oakley of Ohio; also survived by 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Sue Hamilton and Duane Oakley.

Friends may call Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 4-7pm at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home- 271 E. Main St., Springville, where a service will follow at 7pm.
