Rassean "Ra-Sean"  Holloway
Rassean Holloway, born on October 8, 1977 in Newark New Jersey was welcomed into Heaven on September 8, 2017 at JFK Medical Center surrounded by the love of his family.

He was raised in Plainfield, NJ by his mother Linda Holloway-Simms and his loving grandparents.
Rassean attended Cedar Brook elementary school in Plainfield and graduated eighth grade from Corner Stone Christian Academy of Faith Fellowship Ministries, Edison, NJ. He graduated from Newark Arts High School in 1995 where he majored in Dance and Drama.

He started his dancing career under the direction of Ms. Helen Watts at Moderne Academie of Fine Arts dance studios in Scotch Plains, NJ. Under the stage name “Ra-Sean” his talent took him around the world touring with A Chorus Line and appearing in shows worldwide. For many years, he performed in the Detroit Radio City Christmas Specular and went on to appear and perform in Jesus Christ Superstar, the Broadway production of Chess, and as a back-up dancer for Lady Miss Kier of Deee-Lite and countless other performances.

Ra-Sean’s passion and talent for dance/theater and choreography lead him to perform and teach with the Pineda Conservatory Performing Arts Theater and Scotch Plains Academy for Performing Arts High School where his dedication and professionalism was passed on to his students whom he adored. Ra-Sean devoted his life to his art and shined on stage giving every performance his whole heart.
Ra-Sean enjoyed time spent going out to dance clubs with friends, gaming, and especially DC and Marvel comics and apparel. He loved his family and friends and cherished the quality time spent together.

He was preceded in death by his dear grandfather James Holloway, Sr. His step-father Arthur “Tariq” Simms, and his great-uncles Arthur Correia, Paul Holloway, Sylvester Holloway and his great aunt Maude Holloway.

Surviving are his beloved mother Linda Holloway-Simms, his cherished grandmother Victoria Holloway, his loving uncle James (Annie) Holloway, Jr. his adored nephew, Logan Holloway, his best-friend Tony Rideout, his great-uncle Earl (Sarah) Holloway, great-aunts Juanita (Wallace) Lang, Rose-Lee (Otis) Jones, and Carol Jackson and a host of cousins, extended family, theater family and dear friends

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield.

Funeral Services will begin at 10:00am at the funeral home, followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
