Alton Eugene Parks, 85, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 in Arlington.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, at Mayfield Road Baptist Church, 1701 E Mayfield Rd., Arlington with Rev. Bobby Bridges officiating. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to Mayfield Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 1701 E. Mayfield Road, Arlington, Texas 76014.
Alton was born on July 15, 1932 in Fairy, Texas to Coy Cecil Parks and Bonnie Virginia Chumney Parks. A resident of Arlington since 1960, he was an active member of Mayfield Road Baptist Church for over 40 years. Alton worked for the Container Corporation of America for 31 years. He held various other jobs throughout the years. He retired this year as Caretaker of Mayfield Road Baptist Church.
Alton enjoyed woodworking and landscaping. He dearly loved his family, church and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife of 57 years, Helen Marie Parks.
Survivors: Wife of 7 years, Mary Parks; son, Rickey Parks and wife, Karen of Athens; daughter, Mary Ann Lewis and husband, Gary of Mansfield; stepson, Bobby Bridges and wife, Judy of Arlington; grandchildren, Amber Tilson and husband, Brandon, Tanner Lewis, Clay Parks and wife, Amanda; step-grandson, Christian Bridges and wife, Heather; great-grandchildren, Mason, Makenna, Makinley, Kelbie, Ryker and Brighton.
