Life Story for Josephine M. Martin (Fry)

Josephine M. Martin, 94, passed Monday, August 21, 2017 at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan following a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas W. Martin. Josephine is remembered by her family and close friends. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Walter and Sara Curtain, she was a long-time resident of Manhattan. Josephine had a love of animals, nature and travel. She regularly visited Monhegan, Maine and Cape May, New Jersey. An avid ping pong player, Josephine continued playing at 94, giving competitors half her age a stiff challenge. She enjoyed spending time at the Stuyvesant Town Oval feeding the birds and petting the many “doggies” that came to visit with her.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing to be held September 14 from 5-7pm at Reddens Funeral Home of Manhattan. Additionally, family and friends are invited to attend a burial service September 22 at 2pm at Forest Hills Cemetery of Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania.
