Forrest Hill is a Great Place. My Dad recently passed and everything was handle very well. We had a few things that we asked for that was out if the norm and they graciously worked with us and everything turned out perfect. I have several family members that are buried there and there has never been any problems at all over the years we have dealt with them

Obituary for Edward McCausland

Edward McCausland
Edward McCausland, 82, of Cherokee Village, AR died peacefully in his sleep at home on Wednesday, September 13, 2017.
A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 16 at Forest Hill South Funeral Home, Memphis, TN.

Born Edward Burt McCausland on May 15, 1935 in Washington, PA to the late George and Margaret (ne’e McCracken) McCausland
Ed was a graduate of Washington High School, Washington, PA class of 1953.

After completion of his enlistment in the United States Marine Corp. Ed married Jacqueline “Jackie” Zook in 1956 and started a family that would include 5 children. He began his business career in the growing commercial airline industry. Over the next decade he worked for Capital Airlines in Pittsburg, PA; New Orleans, LA; and ultimately Merritt Island, FL. He then transitioned to United Airways landing in Memphis, TN with his family.

Connections in the industry led him to American & International Travel Agency where he started his “second” career as a sales representative. In his early years he managed the travel for several Memphis music legends including Isaac Hayes, BB King, Charlie Rich, and Booker T & the MG’s. Ultimately, he rose to become Executive Vice President of the agency and is regarded for securing many of A&I’s Corporate Travel Division largest partners.

Outside of work, Ed had many interests in his personal life. Widely traveled, the Hawaiian Islands were one of his favorite destinations. He estimated that he had visited more than 60 times over the years. He and his wife Jackie loved entertaining for business clients or friends of the family. Whether in their backyard or in Cherokee Village for “Hardy Party” all who participated have the fondest of memories for their hospitality, great food, and good times.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jackie McCausland (2007); a son Richard “Buck” McCausland (1983); and a granddaughter Erin M. Wheeley (2005).
He is survived by three daughters Maureen (Mike) Miller of Wyoming, OH; Susan (Tim) Morrow of Cherokee Village, AR; Brenda (Pat) Wheeley of Rogers, AR; and Mike (Michelle) McCausland of Portland, OR. Ed was the blessed “Papap” of eleven grandchildren Whitney (John) Koski, Richard (Cristina) Wheeley, Courtney Miller, Louis Miller, Courtney (Mike) Crawford-Harrison, Mallari (Justin) Hensley, Edward (Ashley) Wheeley, Rebecca (Garin) Bean, Emma, Michael & Matthew McCausland in addition to 8 great grandchildren Ryan, Sophie, Ella, Kalei, Breanna, Lyndsey, Matthew, and Jaxon.

The family thanks Kelly Anderson and the staff at Hospice Care of Northern Arkansas for their support, guidance, and comfort. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to Hospice Care of Northern Arkansas or the charity of your choice.
