Obituary for Virginia Ellen Stephens (Smith)

Virginia Ellen (Smith) Stephens, 92, of Falling Waters, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 at home.

Born July 21, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Melcher Elsworth Smith and Lelia Viola Smith O’Farrell.

She attended Little Falls Presbyterian Church and had been employed by
Potomac Sportswear.

She is survived by four sons, Roger Sr. of Williamsport, MD, Ronnie Sr., Walter Jr. “Junior” and Mark Stephens; one daughter Janice Bussard, all of Falling Waters; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Vernie “Sis” Jones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Stephens Sr.; one grandson, Mark Brandon Stephens; two brothers, Floyd and Vernon Smith; one sister, Virgie Myers; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Howard officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens.
