Obituary for Vernon "Ray" Toten Sr.

Vernon "Ray"  Toten Sr.
Vernon Ray Toten, Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 20, 2017.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Wounded Warrior Project or The American Kidney Foundation.
Ray was born on October 18, 1944 in Clifton, TX to parents Otis and Ruby Toten.
Ray proudly served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home he went to work for Central Freight Lines where he retired after 37 years.
Ray was a family man above all else and a friend to all. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; and 1 brother.
Survivors: Ray is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 51 years, Donna; daughter, Michelle Beck(Gary); son, Ray Toten, Jr.; granddaughters, Meagan Brooks(Raymond), Misti Beck, Bianca Callahan(Evan), Chloe Beck(Marcus Perez) and Hannah Beck; 6 great-grandchildren; twin brother, Roy Toten; sisters, Verlene Duke(Bobby) and Sue Boykin(Ernest); and his faithful and very loved dog, Jake.
