Condolence From: K.Marrufo
Condolence: My condolences to the family. While words fail to capture the pain of losing a loved one, we look forward to the time when words will fail to capture the joy of having our heavenly Father return your dear one to you (Acts 24:15.)

Condolence: David Wnek was a good man with a good heart.

I was David's Platoon Commander during his first combat deployment to Iraq. I remember his efforts in training to become a better Marine and Machine Gunner. He had large shoes to fill at the time and he worked very, very hard.

I remember the first time he was shot at, the look on his face, and the unexpected humor that followed that situation. We laughed after 2 sniper rounds hit the bulletproof window inches from his face in the Humvee (HMMWV).

We will remember him as a gentle soul who worked very hard at things that did not come easy to him or anyone else. He put his life on the line for others and consequently accomplished more than most civilians I've ever met.

I wish we knew how much pain he was in. Fair winds and following seas David.

Semper Fi,

Capt. John W. Urquhart, USMC
