Obituary for Ruby Carver

Ruby Carver
Ruby E. (Willett) Carver - Born on August 16, 1924 on the Owls Boro Road in Mt. Chase to John & Flossie (Rafford) Willett.

Sept. 13, 1944, Ruby married the love of her life, Adrian. Later, settling on the Mt. Chase farm they purchased, they raised their 8 children. She worked alongside her husband logging, farming potatoes, raising cattle and horses.

Her kitchen always smelled of freshly cooked meals and goodies where she served not only her family, but lumbermen in the logging camp, visiting missionaries and ministers from her church, children’s friends they brought home from school and colleges, visiting hunters, foreign visitors, and many many friends. Her home and heart was opened to all.

Survived by her husband of 73 years, daughters-in-law Joyce, Elizabeth, Lynn; children: Daniel (Patricia), Sharon (Blaine Jackett), Dana (BethAnne) & James (Tammy). She was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her parents, brothers: Linwood, Clifford, Truman, Hermon; sisters: Mayvilla (Peggy) Heath, Edna Brawn, Bertha Carver; children: Richard, Reona, Eugene & Roger.

Because of her service to others, she was fortunate to be reciprocated with wonderful caregivers: especially Rae Jewell, Madigan Estates Personnel and thoughtful friends.

Calling hours Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Patten Pentecostal Church, 12:00 - 2:00 PM. Funeral service following at 2:00 PM performed by family members, Pastor Frank Randall and Pastor Reginald Adams. Committal service following at Mt. Chase Cemetery.

Because of her love for service to others and cooking skills, any donations in it’s entirety will go towards the kitchen refrigeration system at Whited Bible Camp, PO Box 91, Bridgewater, Maine 04733.
