Kim Odette Long
April 3, 1952 – September 23, 2017
Kim Odette Long, 65, of Middletown, Pennsylvania, went to be with the Lord at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer while surrounded by her loving family.
Kim was born on April 3, 1952, to the late Robert W. and Alma G. (Geesey) King. She graduated from Middletown Area High School in 1970 and from the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing in 1973. Kim was a member of the New Beginnings Church and will be remembered as a woman who loved God and loved to serve others.
Kim is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, Chris Long; her sister Vicki Sourbeer; and her 5 beloved children daughters Deanna Wealand, Andrea Wealand, and Kara Connors (Joseph), and sons Travis Wealand (Santina) and Clint Long (Krista). She will forever be remembered as “mimi” to her 3 beautiful grandchildren Evalina, Cade and Crew Long.
Kim enjoyed, more than anything, spending time with her family and laughing at Sunday dinners. Her days always consisted of reading her Bible, daily devotions, praying for others and making most of what life had to offer and what she could offer to others. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend that will never be forgotten and sorely missed by those who knew her and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 260 East Main Street, Middletown, PA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at New Beginnings Church, 630 South Union Street, Middletown, PA. All are welcome to attend to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Kim to New Beginnings Church.
