William Addison

My sincere condolences to Don's family and friends. I worked with Don for the few years that he was a professor in the Psychology Department at Eastern Illinois University, where I've taught for the past 30 years. In addition to his "wildly inappropriate" sense of humor, I also appreciated his clear and direct communication style. Don didn't concern himself with being politically correct; he would always "tell it like it was." I had not seen Don for over 20 years until I got a phone call from him out of the blue this past summer. He was passing through Charleston, IL on his way to Danville to visit family when he stopped to give me a call. After a brief lunch at the local county airport-his choice-we went back to my office to reminisce about "the old days" at EIU. We talked for a couple hours, during which we were joined by another of my former colleagues who had retired a few years ago. It was fun reconnecting with Don after all those years, and it was gratifying to see that his sense of humor and political incorrectness were still intact. He was certainly one of a kind; may he rest in peace.
