Obituary for Courtney Simmons

Courtney Nicole Simmons
NORTHPORT – Courtney Nicole Simmons, age 25, of Northport, Ala., died September 30, 2017 at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Bro. Jim Headley officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Chapel Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at the funeral home.
Courtney is survived by her fiancé, Cade Fowler; parents, John Thomas and Carla Shomo (Marc); sister, Chelsea Simmons-Channell (Terron), mama, Helen Daugherty, nieces, Cheyenne and Charlotte-who were more like her daughters; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Courtney was a fighter. She fought Cystic Fibrosis her entire life. She lived life to the fullest and never let her illness rule her life. Everyone she ever came into contact with loved her. No matter how bad she felt, she always had a smile-and it lit up the room! She will be laid to rest next to her life-long friend, Mallory Hannah, who was more like a sister to her. They are both in Heaven with new bodies and beautiful wings with all of their friends and family that went on before them. Courtney did not want us to be sad, she wanted us to celebrate her life and be happy she is suffering no more and can finally JUST BREATHE!
Pallbearers will be Tyler Duncan, J.T. Thomas, Conner Thomas, Trace Hannah, Taylor Hannah, Bradly Ritzheimer, Jacob Bretzke, and BJ Fowler.
Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama, UAB doctors, nurses, and staff, and her whole C.F. family.
