Frankfort – Marie Perkins McPherron, age 88, passed away on October 1, 2017 at Bradford Square after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. service time on Wednesday.

Marie was born in Stamping Ground on September 23, 1929 to the late Almedia (L.B.) Hockensmith and Walter Perkins. She was united in marriage to her husband, Joe McPherron, who also preceded her in death. She lived in Frankfort for most of her life and went to Midway School. She was employed at Ezra Brooks Distillery, Union Underwear and a Member of the YMCA and the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints. She loved to farm and raise a garden and grow tobacco. She was a one-of-a-kind lady.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Wright; granddaughter, Amanda Wright; sisters, Betty Hinkle and Rosena Perry, and brother, Raymond Perkins.

She is survived by four sons, Charles (Beverly), Larry, Jerry (Margaret), and Michael Wright (Marilyn) and by her brother, Elmo Perkins. She was also blessed with 11 grandkids, 17 great-grandkids, and 5 great-great grandkids.

Serving as pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons, Dwayne, Scotty and Joey..

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
